A Swiss 18 carat rose gold skeletonized open faced quarter repeating cylinder watch with vari coloured gold three Jacquemarts automaton, circa 1820. Gilt finished skeletonized cylinder movement, quarter repeating on three hammers. Glazed cuvette. Dial with Breguet numerals on white enamel chapter ring, skeletonized centre surmounted by a vari coloured gilt scene depicting a standing gentleman striking a triangle hold by a hand protruding from a cloud above, a monkey striking a scythe and an angel striking an anvil, all apparently in unison with the repeating and observed by a wolf. Case with engine turned hinged back, repeating through the pendant. Case numbered and stamped with casemaker’s mark ‘PHMI’, dial and movement signed.
