Large cut glass silver mounted inkwell

An impressive English cut glass inkwell with a silver top housing a verge watch, Hallmarked Birmingham 1906. Full plate gilt key wind fusee movement, engraved cock with diamond endstone, plain three-arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds, and gilt hands. Engine turned silver open faced case with ribbed middle, Hallmarked London 1825, maker’s mark IC in a rectangle. Large square glass inkwell with canted corners, concave base decorated with a cut star reflecting the colour of the ink. The circular hinged silver top fitted with the watch secured by a bayonet fit silver bezel.
