Pocket chronometer in Scandinavian watch shop sales box
–
A numbered heavy extremely fine pocket chronometer in a sales box of a Scandinavian watch shop, made by Jacques Alfred Jürgensen in Copenhagen, Denmark, circa 1875. This full hunter cased watch was crafted from 18 Carat gold in a water drop shape and has an engine turned back lid which has a monogram in the center. The white enamel dial has Roman hour numerals, a subsidiary seconds dial at six o’clock with Arabic numerals and blued steel hands. The movement hans an extremely fine chronometer escapement with especially large chronometer balance, helical hairspring, screwed gold chatons, extremely fine workmanship with two protection mechanisms for the escapement wheel and Jürgensen’s bow hand setting.
Dial cuvette and movement have matching numbers and the case, dial, cuvette, movement and box are signed.
