A very rare and technical interesting Danish pocket watch, probably the earliest pocket watch repeater from Frederik Jürgensen Copenhagen, circa 1811.
18 carat pink gold case with reeded mid section, original case punched FJ and signed dome; signed movement with cylinder escapement and repeating hours and quarters; signed and original white enamel dial with Arabic numerals and Breguet steel hands.

In 1811-1843 Frederik Jürgensen made only about 500 pocket watches. The earliest noted and in the literature mentioned pocket watch of his production was numbered 4049 (see Knudsen: The Jürgensen Dynasty, page 68). Since the present watch is still without a number, it can be assumed that it comes from the first year of production.
