An important and rare Danish quarter repeating hunting cased pocket watch with pivoted detent escapement, circa 1849.
18 carat gold and engine-turned à goutte case with reeded band, engine-turned and signed gold dome and slide for repeating mechanism. White signed enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, auxiliary seconds and blued Breguet hands. Bridge movement, stripe-decorated, gilt, 2 hammers, 2 gongs, keywind, pivoted detent chronometer escapement, large gold screw compensation balance, blued balance spring, gold escape wheel.
