A Dutch decorative pair cased verge pocket watch with repoussé decoration Apollo and the Four Seasons, circa 1759. Two cases: outer case – gold, repoussé case, with a depiction of Apollo and the Four Seasons, engraved and chased volutes and scrollwork and large lateral hinge; inner case – gold polished, with case maker’s punch mark LM ILouis Masquerier) and seven piece hinge. Signed enamel dial with radial Roman hours and blued Poker & Beetle hands. Full plate movement, keywind, fire gilt and signed, with applied floral decorations, chain/fusee, square baluster pillars, three arm steel balance and fine florally engraved, pierced balance bridge.

Johan Hendrik Wiedeking worked as a watchmaker in Utrecht, he was born around 1730 and was probably of German origin. Large clocks (floor clocks) and small clocks are known from these clockmakers. On July 15, 1796, Johan Hendrik was a witness at the notary HN Schalkwyk for the will of his daughter Maria Elizabeth Wiedeking with Ernst Edel Jobst Braagman. Maria Elizabeth was called a bride at the notary, Ernst Edel Jobst was called a bridegroom and was the widower of Geertrui de Vrint.
Johan Hendrik Wiedeking died on April 6, 1802 in Utrecht.
