An important, very fine Dutch silver open faced astronomical pocket watch, circa 1670. Gilt, frosted full plate movement, signed, applied blued pierced click work, florally engraved pierced balance cock, iron ring balance, engraved pierced movement pillars, chain/fusee, verge escapement. Gilt dial, florally engraved, window for day and month indication, another window for sunrise and sunset, disc for moon phase and moon age, date ring, hour ring with Roman numerals and blued hands. Case lavishly and very finely florally ornamented and engraved, casemaker’s punch mark Fleur de Lys for Boele Rijnhout.
