Silver pair cased verge watch with alarm

A fine Dutch silver pair cased verge watch with alarm, circa 1680, gilt full plate verge movement signed J Vrijthoff  Maestricht, circa 1680 pierced and engraved balance cock and alarm barrel. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates.
Silver champlevé dial, central rotating brass alarm disc, Roman numerals, pierced and engraved case with flora and fauna outer leather case with silver pin-work decoration.

Jean Vrijthoff de Jonge better known as Jean Vrijthoff Le Jeune, has in the third and fourth quarters worked in Maastricht in the 17th century.
It is possible that Jean Vrijthoff was apprenticed to Johannes van Ceulen the Elder, who came from Maastricht.
