A very fine, rare, early English silver single-handed pendant watch, circa 1660. Hinged, round gilt brass full plate movement with primitive tulip pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain steel two-armed balance without spring, irregular oval foliate pierced and engraved cock secured by a pin, striking on a bell, the striking train with gilt brass pierced and engraved fixed barrel and revolving arbour, gilt brass count wheel mounted on the back plate. Silver dial engraved with an urban scene, silver decorated with rayed design on a stippled ground. Engraved case with applied decoration. Movement signed.
