The company G. Süssmann was based in Cairo. The company was founded in 1865 by G. Süssmann and was originally specialized in optical instruments, later jewellery and watches were added. The logo, which was also used on watches, was a pair of glasses. Süssmann was the court jeweller of Abbas Hilmi Pasha, the last Khedive of the Ottoman province of Egypt from 1892 to 1914.
Süssmann sold watches from Invicta, Leonidas and Octava and clocks from L. Furtwangler & Söhne from Furtwangen (Black Forest). In 1928 the company filed for bankruptcy.
