A solid English 18 carat gold pair cased pocket watch made by William Ross in London, circa 1801. Key wind gilt full plate movement with an English lever escapement, engraved balance cock with diamond endstone, chain and fusee, a three arm balance and silver indicator disc. White enamel dial with Roman numeral hour markers, an outer minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and pink gilt spade hands. The polished outer and inner case with hallmarks for 1801 and maker’s punch mark IM. Cuvette numbered. Dial and movement signed.
