José Rodríguez Losada, (1797-1870), was a Spanish watchmaker in the middle of the 19th century and signed his watches with “J.R. Losada”. He was a liberal former member of the army, who lived in London and is known for the turret clock he donated to the Community of Madrid in 1866, which can be seen at the Puerta del Sol. Losada also wrote poems, some of which he dedicated to his friend Joseph Zorrilla.
