A very fine and rare English, 22 Carat gold and enamel quarter repeating, diamond and pearl set pocket watch with an outer protective case and a gold and enamel chatelaine. Diamond Snowflake by John Marie, London. With London hallmarks for 1794-95. The gold outer case, protective with glazed back, inner case: consular, the back in translucent Imperial blue enamel over sunburst engine-turning with an applied diamond set rosette in the centre, pearl set bezels, fixed gold cuvette.

Chatelaine: graduated oval and circular panels with filigree decoration, two tassels, two keys and an urn shaped seal en suite. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute dot divisions. Diamond set arrowhead hands. A hinged, frosted gilt full plate movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock, silver regulation disc, repeating on bell activated by depressing the pendant. Movement signed.
