Gold open faced verge watch

An English 22 carat gold pair cased verge watch, Hallmarked London circa 1774. Gilt brass full plate movement spaced by four square baluster pillars, balance cock and side plate decorated with ornately pierced and engraved detail of acanthus leaf scrolling with diamond end stone, three-arm balance with knife edge crossing, verge escapement and fusee, gilt brass dust cap signed and numbered.
White enamel dial with black Roman numerals bordered by minute track and outer Arabic divisions at five-minute intervals, blue steel beetle and poker hands.
The outer case repousse and the inner case plain with maker’s mark possibly RP or Richard Palmer.
