Gold Filled watch with Clifford magnetic escapement

An exceptionally rare American 10 Carat gold filled keyless pocket watch, circa 1940.
A Railway Special is one of only two known examples to be fitted with a prototype Clifford magnetic escapement, by Horstmann Clifford Magnetics Ltd., of Bath, England, circa 1950. A screwed-down back, bezel with reeded and dot decoration and large bow. White enamel Montgomery dial with large Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, individual Arabic minute numerals, subsidiary seconds and blued steel spade hands.
A rhodium-plated movement, Geneva striping decoration, now fitted with a Clifford magnetic escapement with a Mumetal pierced escape wheel and spring-blade detent-type resonator. Dial, case and movement signed.
