–
An eight day marine deck chronometer made by Parkinson & Frodsham in London, England, circa 1820. The glazed open faced case was crafted from brass and mounted in a numbered three part mahogany box with a gimbal suspension. The silvered dial is numbered, has Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, Arabic five minutes, a power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, a subsidiary seconds dial at 6 and gold spade hands. The very fine and early eight day movement has a chronometer escapement, helical hairspring, diamond end stone and a chronometer balance with two trapezoidal weights and four weight screws.
Dial and movement signed.
