An English silver and tortoiseshell triple cased watch with champlevé dial, number 1, circa 1750. Full plate gilt brass movement with finely pierced and engraved balance cock and side plate decorated with acanthus leaf scrolling and grotesque, silver Arabic regulation, verge escapement, raised above four square baluster pillars
Silver champleve dial with black inlaid Roman numerals bordered by outer Arabic divisions at five-minute intervals, central signature in scrolls, blue steel beetle and poker hands.
Plain inner and middle cases with maker’s mark B possibly EB, tortoiseshell veneer outer case with silver studded star design to reverse, dial and movement signed Stroude, London.
