A large English pocket chronometer with spring detent escapement and with original mahogany box, circa 1824.
Silver engine turned case with reeded band and case maker punch mark “LW”. Signed enamel dial with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds and gold spade hands. Full plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt and signed, with chatoned, chain/fusee, moulded pillars, chronometer balance with two weights and four screws, freesprung blued helical balance spring and chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
