A heavy deck chronometer with centre seconds, made by the Makers to the Admiralty Joseph White & Son in Coventry and London, England, circa 1871. The open faced case of this watch is crafted from 18 carat gold, has the English hallmarks from 1871 and an engine turned back lid with an empty cartouche in the center. The white enamel dial has an outer track with Arabic 5 minute numerals, Roman hour numerals and gold hands. The movement has a top quality English anker chronometer escapement, a chronometer balance and screwed gold chatons.
The case and movement have matching numbers and the dial and movement are signed.
