Pocket watch with enamel painting “The Cherry Earrings”

An exceptionally large triple case repoussé verge watch with the finest enamel painting “The Cherry Earrings”, made by Wilter in London, England, circa 1760. The outer case of the watch is made of silver and features a full hunter design that is covered with ray skin. The middle case is adorned with stunning repoussé work and intricate floral motifs. In the centre of the middle case is an enamel plaque of exceptional quality, depicting a fine magnifying glass painting of “Die Kirsch Ohr ringe” or “The Cherry Earrings”. The inner case bears the master’s mark FI. The original champlevé dial of the watch boasts a date window and original hands, further adding to its charm. The movement of the watch features a verge escapement, commonly used in watches during the 16th to 19th centuries and known for its accuracy and reliability.
