An extremely rare English silver pair cased verge pocket watch made for the Japanese market, circa 1760.
A polished outer case with large lateral hinge and a further polished inner case. The gilt dial has applied movable silver plaques with inlaid black Japanese numerals and blued steel poker & beetle hands.
The signed, gilt, florally engraved, key wound, full plate movement with applied engraved ornaments, chain and fusee, square baluster pillars, a three arm steel balance and pierced balance cock.
