An exquisite English pair-cased gold quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1770.
This watch boasts a lavishly engraved movement, complete with two hammers, a chain/fusee, a three-arm steel balance, a silver index regulator, and a verge escapement. The outer case of this watch is crafted from gold and features intricate piercings and engraving. The inner case is also made from gold and is similarly decorated. The enamel dial is adorned with Arabic radial hours, an outer minutes track with five-minute numerals and gold hands. The movement is numbered 1160 and bears his signature, ensuring its authenticity. Regrettably, the dial has been damaged at the 6 o’clock position.
