A fine English gilt verge pocket watch, circa 1700. Gilt-brass full plate movement with finely pierced and engraved silver balance cock decorated with acanthus leaf scrolling and grotesque, silver Arabic regulation, verge escapement, fusee, the back plate raised above four Egyptian pillars.
Later white enamel dial with black Roman numerals, outer minute track with Arabic five-minute numerals and blue steel beetle & poker hands.
Plain polished gilt case with rubbed maker’s mark, possibly BB, movement signed Wm. West London.
