A rare English gilt metal and agate necessaire with inset verge watch made for the Oriental market in the manner of James Cox, circa 1765, gilt verge movement, signed, pierced and engraved balance cock. White enamel dial, Roman numerals with outer Arabic minute track, the watch set within the hinged lid of the necessaire resting on four cast lamb form feet, the casket with floral and scroll decoration the flowers lacquered, further applied coloured paste ornament, containing mirror, two glass scent bottles, ivory memorandum slip, telescope, knife, fork, meter, compass, tweezers, scissors, snuff spoon and folding knife.
