Gold and enamel repeater by Isaac Roberts

A fine, solid and rare English 22 carat gold and enamel pair cased quarter repeating pocket watch, circa 1765. Full plate fire gilt movement with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement, brass escape wheel, three-arm steel balance with flat balance spring, single footed balance cock, diamond endstone, pierced and chased backplate furniture, silver regulation disc, repeating on a bell activated by depressing the pendant.
White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer minute track with five-minute Arabic numerals and gold poker and beetle hands. Pierced and engraved outer case with foliage and scrolls, pierced soundholes, the bezel decorated to match, thumbpiece set with a rose-cut diamond, the inner case finely pierced and engraved with foliage and scrolls. Gilt-brass dust cap. Movement and dust cap signed.
