A very fine English 18 Carat gold and enamel pair cased duplex pocket watch made for the Chinese market, circa 1800.
Gilt full plate movement, florally engraved border, key winding, blued screws, balance stop device, duplex escapement, three arm steel balance, fine florally engraved balance cock, engraved regulator scale, chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
Florally engraved gilt movement protection cap. White enamel dial with radial Roman hours and outer minute divisions, auxiliary seconds, heart shaped gold hands. The case back with a very finely painted multicoloured enamel plaque depicting a pastoral scene within engraved and multi coloured champlevé enamel decoration, bezels, pendant and bow engraved, case maker’s punch mark IN, punch marks for London and hallmark E for 1800.
