Gold open faced verge watch

Embossed and chased gold quarter repeating watch in pair cases, signed on the dust cap of the movement by Gerret Bramer, Amsterdam, circa 1730. With a scene after Gérard de Lairesse of Cleopatra about to dissolve the pearl before Anthony. The chasing is signed ‘H Manly fecit’. Both cases are marked ‘SG a fish above’ for Stephen Goujon, England. Gilt finished verge movement, finely pierced and engraved balance cock. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, pierced inner case, outer case with repoussé scene.
