A very fine diamond-set splendour half hunting case pocket watch for the Ottoman market, circa 1859. 18k gold case, diamond set jumping lid with inlaid translucent cobalt blue enamelled Ottoman numerals, engine-turned and translucent cobalt blue enamelled back lid, engraved ower and vase decoration lavishly set with diamonds, splendid orally engraved gold dome, case maker’s punch mark “JB”, orally engraved pendant. Enamel dial, radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, gold Fleur-de-Lys hands. 3/4 plate movement, keywind, frosted, gilt, signed, screwed chatons, English lever escapement, chain/fusee, gold screw compensation balance, ne orally engraved balance cock, chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
