An elegant English 18 carat gold, agate and rose-cut diamond-set key-wound pocket watch, circa 1790. A Louis XVI case, decorated and pierced bezel set with agate, button at three set with a rose-cut diamond in silver, the back with striped agate set within a gold rim decorated with flowers and scrolls. White enamel dial with radial Roman numerals, outer scrolled minute track with five-minute Arabic markers, winding aperture at four and pierced-blued steel hands. Matte gilt movement, pentagonal baluster pillars, fuse and chain, verge escapement with micrometric adjustment, three-arm balance, flat balance spring, pierced and engraved continental-type cock, silvered regulation dial. Dial and movement signed.
