An important, very heavy English silver open faced deck watch chronometer, with original box, circa 1824.
Original silver case with hallmarks 1824 and casemaker’s punch WL (William Linsley) London; interesting Earnshaw chronometer movement with special chronometer balance, screwed round weights and cylindrical weights, cylindrical hairspring, diamond endstone and screwed gold chatons; signed and numbered white enamel dial with Roman hours, sunk subsidiary dial with Arabic seconds and extravagant Breguet steel hands.
