An unusual English gilt metal open faced lever pocket watch, circa 1840. Key wound gilt movement of unusual design, the train under a single footed cock, large suspended going barrel with Geneva stop work, plain cock with polished steel regulator and diamond end stone, plain three armed steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. English table roller lever escapement, escape pivots with end stones. Attractive white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, offset subsidiary seconds and blued steel hands. Engine turned case.
