An English silver hunting cased lever pocket watch made by James McCabe, Hallmarked London circa 1853. Gilt ¾ plate key wind movement with fusee and chain, Harrison’s maintaining power, a plain cock with polished steel regulator, diamond end stone, plain three arm gold balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, an English table roller lever escapement and escape wheel pivots with end stones. White enamel dial with Roman hour numerals, an outer minute track, subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock and gilt hands. A faded engine turned case with reeded band and gold hinges, maker’s mark CBH in an oval and further SS and IMC, the number corresponding to that on the movement. Dial and movement signed and numbered.
