An English Massey three lever in a silver open faced case, hallmarked London circa 1851. Full plate gilt key wind fusee movement. Harrison’s maintaining power. Chased and engraved cock inscribed ‘Patent – Detached’, diamond end stone, blue steel Bosley regulator. Plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Massey type three lever escapement, screwed in jewelling. Off white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals and gilt hands. Very faded engine turned silver open face case with engine turned middle. Maker’s mark ED.
