Rare bronze pair cased pocket watch by Graham

An extremely rare English pair cased verge pocket watch with retrograde digital hours, circa 1730.
Two cases: outer case – bronze, covered with tortoiseshell, inlaid gold strands, revolving scene with banner: “Sil heure passe nous la passon aussi” (“Time passes and we are savouring it”); inner case – brass, gilt, polished. The dial has a retrograde window for gilt florally engraved disc with round aperture for Roman hours; and retrograde silvered minutes over a fine polychrome enamel painting depicting two lovers and banner: “Proffittons du temps l’heure passe” (“We savour the passing time”). Fosted, gilt and decorated full plate movement with chain/fusee, pierced movement pillars, three-armed steel balance and large florally engraved and pierced balance cock.
