An extremely rare repoussé pair-cased verge watch with enamel painting and date, circa 1766.
Two silver cases: outer repoussé case, back with painted fine enamel plaque; inner case with London Hallmarks from 1766 and case maker’s punch IH. Signed silver champlevé dial with date aperture, Roman radial hours, outer minutes ring with Arabic five minutes numerals, and very beautiful hands. Signed and numbered full plate fire gilt movement with decorative pillars, verge movement, and worm screw.
