Silver pair cased pocket watch by John Worke

A fine, rare pair cased English verge pocket watch in repoussé case, circa 1765-1766.
Signed full plate fire gilt movement with square baluster pillars, pierced and engraved bridge cock, pierced and engraved plate for the silver regulator disc, fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. White, enamel dial with Roman radial hours, Arabic five-minute numerals, arcaded minute ring, and pierced gilt hands. Silver pair cases: plain inner case, silver pendant and bow; and silver outer case with a chased and engraved repoussé scene on the back within a rococo border.

John Worke worked as a clockmaker in London and was active from about 1760 to 1785. He made many Dutch-style clocks.
