An English verge with silver champlevé dial in silver pair cases, circa 1715. Full plate fire gilt movement with square baluster pillars. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel set-up between the plates. Pierced and engraved winged cock with mask, broad pierced and engraved foot. Plain three arm gilt balance, silver regulator disc. Signed silver champleve dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, gilt beetle and poker hands. Silver pendant and stirrup bow. Plain outer, maker’s mark VB.
