An important and heavy English silver open faced deck watch with 52,5-minute carrousel and Kew certificate class A (83-9 marks, especially good), circa 1901. Gilt frosted 3/4 plate movement, ébauche by Bahne Bonniksen, chatoned, Bonniksen carrousel revolving in 52,5 minutes, the barrel engraved Greenwich Time, English lever escapement, gold screwed compensation balance, blued Breguet balance spring with a terminal curve, chatoned diamond endstone on balance. Off-white enamel dial with radial Roman hours, outer minute divisions, auxiliary seconds at 6 and blued spade hands. Polished plain case, case maker’s mark SS. Dial and movement signed and numbered.
