Silver pair cased travel watch by Isaac Rogers
–
An English silver key wind coach clock in two cases, made for the Ottoman market, circa 1759.
The watch features a gilded brass full plate movement with a verge escapement and a pierced and engraved balance cock. The three-armed balance is plain but adorned with a diamond end stone, adding a touch of luxury to the piece. The silver champlevé dial is beautifully crafted with black Turkish numerals, outer and inner minute divisions, and blued steel beetle and poker hands. The watch is encased in polished silver cases, with the outer case featuring a removable cover using a screw. The watch is signed on the face by Isaac Rogers and features an inscription in Persian characters with 1759 inside the movement.
