Silver watch with engraved aristocratic crown

An early pair cased watch with date and chain made by James Markham in London, England, circa 1763. Both cases were crafted from silver, have Hallmarks for 1763 and the back of the outer case has an engraved aristocratic crown. The beautiful silver champlevé dial has Roman hour numerals, an outer ring with Arabic five minute numerals, a window for the date in the decorated center and gilt hands. The numbered movement has an early London verge escapement and worm gear.
The case and movement have matching numbers, the dial is signed Markham and the movement James Markham London.
