An English silver pair cased verge pocket watch, hallmarked Birmingham 1839. Full plate fusee movement, round pillars, an unusual cock depicting a beehive and bees on a pierced and engraved table, steel regulator on the top plate below the plain three-arm steel balance. White enamel dial with Roman hours, outer minute divisions, a polychrome enamel scene in the centre showing a large family house with a horse and carriage waiting in the driveway, gilt hands. Plain matching cases, silver oval pendant and bow, maker’s mark VR for Vale and Rotherham, Coventry.
