Extremely rare large early pendant watch with alarm

An extremely rare, large early single handed pendant watch with alarm, made by Henry Godfrey in London, England, circa 1685. The open faced case of the watch is gilded and has a pierced floral case and a bell.

The gold grained dial has Roman numerals for the hours, Arabic numerals on the central alarm disc and blued steel hands. The movement has a very early verge escapement with a hairspring, two barrels, a chain and fusee, the barrel of the striking mechanism is also pierced and vase pillars are unusual and rare.
