A very rare English verge watch with three cases and a striking mechanism, circa 1810.
Three silver cases: 1st case with a curved band and high-quality lateral hinge, tiny floral sound openings, and glazed back; 2nd case also with a curved band and floral sound openings, and a central flower bowl; and the inner case also pierced, central again a flower motif, a band with two harbour scenes, and bell. Enamel dial with Ottoman numerals for the hours and minutes and black pear hands. Very fine and small verge movement, large diamond endstone, signed George Prior London No. 29272.
