A decorative English fire gilt pair cased quarter repeating verge pocket watch made by Benjamin Barber for the Ottoman market, late 18th Century. This watch has a splendid English verge movement, repeating hours and quarter hours on a bell with round pillars. White enamel dial with Ottoman numerals and probably original hands. Outer case pierced with sound openings, likely originally covered with shagreen, now with leather, pierced inner case. Dial signed, cuvette signed and numbered.
