Gilt metal automaton in pair cases

A rare and large English gilt metal pair cased verge automaton pocket watch, circa 1790. Fire gilt full plate movement, round pillars, pierced and engraved masked cock, silver regulator disc, plain three arm steel balance and a blue steel spiral hairspring. A polychrome enamel dial showing a church on the right with radial Roman time indication on a clock in the tower, gilt hands, on the left a windmill with blue steel blades rotating counter clockwise as they are mounted on a pinion which is driven by two intermediate wheels. Plain cases.
