An English hunting cased pocket watch with a 30-hour power reserve indicator, circa 1879. The movement in best design AD.Fmsz with the coat of arms of the Irvin Clan from the Scottish Lowlands.
18 Carat gold, polished case, turning pendant, gold dome with presentation engraving T. A. Irwin, case maker’s punch mark AS (Alfred Stram), monogrammed, and family crest with the motto: HAUD ULLIS LABENTIA VENTIS (Not wavering before any storm). Signed black enamel dial with radial Roman hours, auxiliary seconds, and spade hands. 3/4 plate movement, frosted, gilt, and signed, with screwed chatons, optionally keywind or crown wind, chain/fusee, English lever escapement, gold screw compensation balance, free-sprung blued balance spring, and chatoned diamond endstone on balance.
