A fine German, nickel keyless pocket and deck lever chronometer with 32-hour power reserve indication, circa 1940. Made for the German Navy, Service Number M. 18268/205076. A massive, polished case, the back engraved with the Service Number and Swastika, hinged cuvette. Silvered dial with Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds and up and- downscale. Blued steel spade hands. A frosted and gilt movement, three-quarter plate, 17 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, brass invar Guillaume balance, Breguet balance spring with swan neck micrometric index. Signed on the dial, case and movement.
