A fine, small French, 18K gold and agate pocket watch, circa 1755. Pocket watch in a Louis XV case, the bezel and band with wavy edge, the back of polished agate graduated from red to turquoise to green. White enamel dial, radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, outermost five-minute Arabic numerals. Gilt Louis XV hands.
A hinged gilt brass full plate movement with square baluster pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement with plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with faceted endstone. Movement signed.
