A large Swiss 18 Carat gold quarter repeating half skeletonized pocket watch, circa 1820. Retailed by Chauvet, Horloger à Perpignan. An Empire, engine turned case. Hinged and sprung gilt rimmed glazed cuvette. White enamel dial, annular with Arabic hour numerals and outer minute track, center disclosing part of the repeating work and blued steel Breguet hands. Gilt brass, part skeletonized movement, going barrel, cylinder escapement with steel escape wheel, plain steel three arm brass balance with flat balance spring, rack and pinion regulator, repeating on steel gongs with visibly shaped hammers activated by depressing the pendant.
Dial and cuvette edge signed.
