A very big French extravagant Adam & Eve seconds automaton with an additional date, circa 1790.
Silver case with reeded midsection and French silver punch. Very rare and fine verge movement with main plate, visible balance on back, engraved regulation scale. Main plate signed and numbered. Face with extravagant enamel dial and enamel painting, different animals, decentralized time indication with an additional date with hand, a rare automaton in the upper section, with seconds indication in the form of a snake, circling around Adam and Eve.

One of the rarest known Adam & Eve automatons.
A comparable piece was sold in a Geneva auction in 1999 for 5750 Swiss francs. The watch here is even rarer because it also has a date function.
